A solar cover is a bubble film that floats on the water, and it is the cheapest heating and the most effective evaporation control on this site — the two are the same mechanism, because most of a pool's overnight heat loss is evaporative. The number that separates this shelf is the thickness in microns, and it is published almost universally: 120 µm at the entry end, 400 µm at the top, with 200 and 300 in between.
